Calistoga Junior/Senior High School
Bullying
The students from our school are bullying constantly. In the interviews that were conducted by the 2013 senior class the results showed that kids rarely say they bully but they notice bullying a lot. There were also the brave ones that said they were the bullies and that they were being bullied. Here are things that some students said.
- "People bully me and my friends because of how we act and what we look like."
- "I have seen people fighting others."
- "I saw when someone got bullied and that person started to cry."
- "I've seen this girl get bullied for being a slut.¨

After getting these answers we went a step further and asked how many times they see bullying happening a day. The numbers were more then we thought. Some said 5,10,or 15 times a week! This shocked us because we hadn't noticed this, to us it doesn't happen much in the high school area. We got a reality check and we need to change the atmosphere in the junior high area because the kids are being extremely cruel to one another. They should be taught that bullying is not okay at a young age so they don't grow up with the perspective that bullying others is okay. Also, we don't want anymore violence by kids reacting to the bully and add another bully to the cycle. We also need for teachers to be more involved with the students so they feel comfortable enough to report any bullying that is going on.
